Recent estimates suggest that more than 20,000 people live in San Francisco’s single-room occupancy (SRO) hotels. These SROs are very small residential hotel rooms used as low-cost housing, often for low-income individuals and formerly homeless people.
No one should feel alone this season... together we can help.
God has given us the privliege of adopting our very own SRO! We get to care for and show love to the residents of Hotel Union in the Tenderloin. This year we will be brining gifts and Christmas cheer!

One Sunday not long after we moved from Texas, Julie and I were standing in the Tenderloin. We had just finished picking up trash after a sidewalk church service. I remember looking around and thinking, God are you punishing me, why did I get demoted? I was half joking, have serious.
Before I could hide the thought, I sensed the Lord’s gentle correction. This is a promotion. Look around. You are where I want to be.
I knew in my heart it was true. Since that moment, serving in San Francisco has become one of the greatest honors of my life. This city has reshaped my prayers and my perspective of people. The way we see the kingdom of breaking into people's lives is extraordinary.
